Adult chest compression’s are high quality and most effective when:

• Hand is placed on the lower half of sternum

• 30 compressions in no less than 15 seconds and no more than 18 seconds

• Compressed at least 2 inches (5cm)

• Complete recoil is allowed following each compression.

• Initial certification class is approximately 4 hours

• Re-certification classes are 2-2.5 hours (with verification of expiring card).
